Q: When will my online order ship?

A:
To protect workers and the public against the spread of COVID-19, Illinois has imposed essential workplace regulations that affect the Field Museum Store's operations. We are still processing orders during this time but we hope you'll understand that we will need more time than usual to fulfill your orders. 

Orders are fulfilled as soon as possible but expect a 3-5 business day delay depending on when your order was placed. If you have any additional questions about placing orders, feel free to contact us via e-mail at onlinestore@fieldmuseum.org.

 

Q: Where are the Field Museum Stores located?

1400 S Lake Shore Dr Chicago, IL 60605

The main store is located by the south entrance of the museum and can be accessed without a museum ticket admission. We also have tone off-site stores located in Terminal 1 at O’Hare airport.

 

Q: Can I purchase a Membership or make a donation online?

A: Yes. You can purchase a Membership to the Museum or give a donation online.

Q: I’m a member- how do I receive my discount online?

A: All members receive a 10% off discount online and in-store. During checkout enter your Membership ID in the promo code section and press apply. Your new total will reflect your discount.

  

Q: Do you offer in store pick-up?

A: In-store pickups are typically available for pick up the following business day. In rare cases, orders may be available for pick up the same business day.

Example: An order placed on Saturday morning will be available for pick up the following Monday. An order placed on Tuesday night will be available for pick up Wednesday morning.

Please enter through the East Door and let security know that you're picking up an order and someone from the store will meet you there shortly. Have your order confirmation ready when you arrive.

Pickup Hours: Thursday - Monday 11am to 4pm

The Museum is temporarily closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until further notice.

 

Q: What does it mean when an item is on backorder?

A: On occasion, we may run out of stock on items in high demand. Even if the item is out of stock, you may still purchase it but it will not ship out until it is restocked in our stores. We will inform you of any delay in shipping that exceeds 30 days.

 

Q: Can I change or cancel my order?

A: If you need to change or cancel your order, please contact us immediately. Once our warehouse has processed your order, we will be unable to make any changes.

 

Q: Can I place a tax-exempt order online?

A: While we honor the tax-exempt status of eligible institutions, we are unable to process tax-exempt orders online.

 

Q: Will I have to pay international taxes & duties?

A: Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. The general amount for the duties and taxes fee is about 20% of the dollar amount of the merchandise. However, this is just a general guideline and may vary depending on the country to which the order was shipped. You should contact your customs office for specific amounts and percentages.

The Field Museum Store cannot control and is not responsible for any duties/taxes applied to your package. You will be responsible for paying additional charges for customs clearance. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; please contact your local customs office for further information. Note, in rare occasions custom agents may delay delivery of some packages.

 

Q: Is the Field Museum Store website compliant with EU privacy standards?

A: Please be advised that when you place an online order through the Field Museum store, you authorize the Museum to process your data in the United States, as described in the Museum's Privacy Policy. Privacy and data protection laws in the United States may vary from the laws in other countries.
