Inspired by a partnership with the Field Museum and Off Color Brewing, and its new exhibition First Kings of Europe we are introducing two new beers into the "Beer for" series.

Beer for Kings and Beer for Commoners will highlight one of the exhibition’s themes: the long history of social classes. "First Kings" explores the rise of ancient Europe's first kings and queens and shows how once egalitarian farming communities developed power, inequity, and hierarchy. The exhibit includes more than 700 objects, including prehistoric tools, weapons, and ritual sculptures from ancient societies in Southeastern Europe.

Unlike modern brewing, where each beer is made from a single batch of grain, Beer for Kings and Beer for Commoners are two separate beers made from the same batch of grain. This brewing technique is called parti-gyling and it separates the sugar-rich first runnings to make a strong beer (for Kings) and the leftover second running grain sugar into a small beer (for Commoners). This Beer for Commoners Mouse with Walking Stick Lapel Pin will look great on your backpack, hat, or jacket.
