About the Maker

Chicagoan Alicia Goodwin created Lingua Nigra (Latin for "Black Tongue") shortly after graduating from F.I.T. Her work is inspired by nature, focusing on ancient talismans, Victorian-era work, and sentimental jewelry. Made with brass, silver, and gold, each piece is crafted with extra care. With nods to everything from markings on beetles to the texture on trees, Lingua Nigra evokes a timeless feeling meant for wearing and sharing these artworks every day.
