A formicarium, or ant habitat allows you to observe ants in a colony. A French scientist invented the formicarium in an attempt to make a three-dimensional ant nest into a virtual two dimensions. Since 1900, scientists young and old have studied ant habitats. Don t break the glass or you ll find ants in your pants!
