Kookaburras live in Australia & New Guinea. The laughing kookaburra is a stocky greyish-brown bird with a barred back & a white head with brown streaks on the crown. The wings are light blue-brown. About 46 cm long, the largest in its family. Feeds mainly on large insects, mice, small birds & small snakes. Female lays from 2-4 round white eggs in the nest, which is usually a hole in a tree.
