The Roman Colosseum is a massive stone amphitheater that was commissioned around 70 AD by the Emperor Vespasian as a gift to the Roman people. In 80 AD, his son Titus opened the colosseum with 100 days of games, including gladiatorial combats and wild animal fights. The coloseeum remained in use for more than four centuries.
