Paakwa Frog Kachina

Paakwa Frog Kachina

Item #: 057712
Philbert Honanie, a member of the Coyote Clan who lives in Hotevilla, Third Mesa, carves in the old style traditional way, and he insists that each be completed at Hopi. He says that his dolls are filled with the spirit of the kachina, and he treats them with deep respect. This fine example of a paakwa, the Hopi word for frog, represents one of his favorite subjects. 8.5 inches high.
