Written by Alfred Kroeber and Donald Collier, this book contains what is still the only complete analysis and seriation of the beautiful painted pottery of Nazca. It is the last in a series of reports from Kroeber's Peruvian expeditions for The Field Museum during the 1920s. Kroeber was a central figure in defining the discipline of anthropology in the first six decades of the 20th century. Donald Collier was Chief Curator of Anthropology at The Field Museum from 1964 to 1970.
