The cover of this wire-bound journal features a detail from a twentieth-century kente cloth made by the Asante people of Ghana. Kente is a ceremonial cloth traditionally worn by royalty. The weaving of kente cloth dates back to the twelfth century. The journal cover is made with a royal blue linen material. The journal contains 58 unlined white pages and measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". The Field Museum has a fine collection of textiles, including many works from Africa. Some beautiful pieces are displayed in our Africa exhibition.
