This deck of 28 medicine cards includes the lavish illustrations and text from the Blue Beryl commentary on the Four Tantras by the Tibetan regent Sangye Gymtso (1653-1705). The Four Tantras is the foundation of traditional Tibetan medicine. The box measures about 9" x 7.5" and includes a four-page pamphlet with information on Buddhism and medicine. The Field Museum's Tibetan collection is one of the largest and best provenanced in the United States. A portion of this collection is on display in our Tibet exhibition.
