Dating back to the 9th century, traditional Wayang Golek puppets depict characters from the Ramayana and Mahabarata Sanskrit epics of ancient India. These elaborately costumed puppets are manipulated by a puppeteer casting shadows on a screen, while the action is accompanied by music and voices, offering entertainment and a lesson in ethics.
