The snake has been used in many cultures as both a protective and a destructive symbol. In ancient Egypt the serpent image representing the hooded cobra was used to signify the pharaohs' royal power and their ability to defeat enemies.

Our sterling silver ring comes from a workshop in the Khan el-Khalili bazaar in Cairo.
