The third largest feline in the world, jaguars are adept at climbing and can be found throughout Mexico and into parts of Central and South America. The Aztec civilization regarded the jaguar as a symbol of rulers and warriors and considered them to be the totem animal of the deity Tezcatlipoca, a central deity in the Aztec religion.
