The teapot as we know it today probably originated from Chinese cultural life sometime during the Ming Dynasty, when leaf infusion of tea leaves began. Our hand-carved stone teapot makes artistic use of the duotone layers of stone, and carver, Gilbert Lam, reveals a phoenix rising over plum blossoms.
