The tradition of storyteller pottery exists throughout the Southwest, and stems in part from the oral history custom of pueblo people. Chris Fragua, a master ceramicist from the Jemez Pueblo, specializes in creating fanciful animal storytellers. Here he has crafted two Koshare clowns ride on the back of a buffalo, who stands 5 inches tall.
